　　大作文四大基本类之外的“混合”类，关键：

　　Over-indulged by parents, some children are allowed to have or do whatever they want. This is largely detrimental tochildren’s development, and also has negative repercussions for their adult life.
　　When children are over-pampered, they are likely to lack self-discipline.Getting accustomed to being given rather than earning what they desire, they do not have the motivation to strive hard. Consider the overall performance of spoilt children in school, where they tend to make less effort than peers because they cannotconcentrate as much on study and more easily give up in the face ofhardship. As a result, they often make poorer academic achievements than their classmates. Kids who are properly reared by parents, by contrast,are aware of the need to study hard by conducting good self-control so as to reach personal goals. This indicates why children should not be granted excessive freedom.
　　Permissive parenting, at the same time, has profound and adverse effects on children’s adult life. Beingself-centered and putting their own needs first, they would have difficulty interacting with others. This may lead to poor teamwork with their colleagues. On top of that, this group of grown-ups tends to shirk responsibilities once experiencing frustration at work. After all, they are not used to confronting challengeshead-on with hard work. Thus, fulfilling every one of children’s wishes poses more long-term problems than many parents expect.
　　In conclusion, children would grow selfish and reluctant to overcome setbacks in life if over-spoilt by their parents. The latter would be sensible to adopt an appropriate upbringing for the good of the former. (263)
