　　Speaking of a person who encouraged me and helped me to achieve a goal, I am reminded of myEnglish teacher, Ms. Wang, without whom (没有了他/她) I would never have made it to university.Ms. Wang was an experienced, gentle and easygoing teacher in her thirties, who was well knownamong her students because her classes were never short of (从来不缺少) laughter and joy.However, no matter how interesting the classes were, I was once a very naughty student, reluctantto (不愿意) follow teachers’ instructions and listen to classes. Needless to say, I was among theworst students in most of the teachers’ eyes, but not in Ms. Wang’s. During our interactions, Ms.Wang somehow discovered that I had a special interest in letters and was actually quite talented inlanguage acquisition, but it was my unwillingness to concentrate on studies that(强调句，正是…)prevented me from making progress. Therefore, she began to put more attention on me, trying toencourage me by leaving positive messages on my notebook, in which she wrote: you are waybetter and talented than you think you are, so please work hard and make me proud. She alsobegan to have some private conversations with me after classes, encouraging me to make full useof my talent to achieve better grades. Touched by her encouragement and kindness, I eventuallyfound my confidence and began to concentrate on my studies. Thanks to her encouragement, Iwas able to discover my gift in language learning and achieve outstanding grades, enabling me toenter higher education.

　　I’d like to describe a TV program called Chinese Bridge. I watch it every Thursday evening. It isbroadcasted on Mango Channel, which is a renowned recreational program in China. (现在完成进行时，表示过去的动作延续到现在，一直都是铁粉) I have been a fan of this show for over five yearsnow. This program was actually welcomed by foreigners who have been studying Chinese. Thecompetition consists of three parts, including talent shows (才艺表演), speeches andimprovisations. (即兴演讲) Each contestant has to pass rounds of challenges with theircounterparts so that they can eventually get the chance to take part in the immersed Chinesesummer camp at Peking University. (参加在北京大学的沉浸式中文学习夏令营). When it comes to whyI am extremely into watching this show firstly, watching performances by the foreigners is new tome. (对于我来说很新鲜) I would definitely burst into laughter (爆笑) when the foreigners do thestand-up comedy. (单口相声) I am indeed happy when I watch the show. Plus, I am proud of beinga Chinese, when some Chinese folk songs like Jasmine are sung by foreigners. Not only can I gainfun from enjoying the show but the TV show also greatly broadens my horizons. I wish I couldwatch this show now!
