　　1 张冠李戴
　　例 Q：Phase I of MIRTP consisted of a survey of household expenditure on transport.
　　原文：The socio-economic survey of more than 400 households in the district indicated that a household in Makete spent, on average, seven hours a day on transporting themselves and their goods.
　　分析：原文说调查主要是关于当地家庭花在出行上的时间，并不是题目中所说的交通花费。有的学生会说原文中也没有提到花费，你不是NOT GIVEN吗；雅思考试中每当提到做某事的原因，做某事的目的，或者研究的目的时，或者说“什么是什么”，一般这个原因和目的都是的，“是”的前后的的。
　　2 数量（含词）或者范围变化
　　例4 Q: The 1993 Sydney survey involved 289patients who visited alternative therapists for acupuncture treatments.
　　原文：Dr Laver and his colleagues published a survey of 289 Sydney people who attended eight alternative therapies’ practices in Sydney. These practices offered a wide range of alternative therapies from 25 therapists. （剑 4 Test 2, Q18）
　　这道题目很容易选成 YES ，因为 289 在原文中和题目中都出现了。但是需要提醒考生的是，不能光看数字考点，还要看一下数字修饰的概念是否一致。在本题中，题目中 289 人的概念是“参加针灸疗法的病人”，而原文中的是“各种各样的疗法”，因为可以肯定 289 人不是都参加针灸疗法的，因为即便其中包括针灸，289 个病人一定还有参加其它疗法的。故本题选 NO。
　　考点词指的是 only,all, must, every 等语气的限定词。这类考点往往因为与原文中所述事实矛盾而选 FALSE/NO 的答案。但是也有很多例外，考生不应不看原文就直接选出答案。
　　例5 Q: The ISTP study examined public and private systems in every city of the world.
　　原文：The study compared the proportion of wealth poured into transport by thirty-seven cities around the world.（剑7T1P3）
　　很显然，这道题目的考点词 every 出错了，因为原文中只讲有 37 个城市。
　　例 Q：In the example of suggestopedia leaching in the fourth paragraph, the only variable that change is the music.
　　原文：the teacher reads the text slowly and solemnly, with attention to the dynamics of the music....In the second part...while the teacher reads the text in a normal speaking voice.
　　分析：除了music 外，还有 reading speed的变化（slowly和normal），古说music是Only variable是错的。
　　例 Q：The financial costs of environment damage are widely recognized.
　　原文：Put it all together and it looks like a battlefield, but consumers rarely make the connection at the dinner table... To many, the costs may not even appear to be financial at all, but merely aesthetic- a terrible shame, but nothing to do with money.（剑7T2P2）
　　分析：题目说widely认识到了financial costs of environment damage，但是原文说rarely make the connection at the dinner table 和 not even appear to be financial at all，故题目放大了范围，为NO。
　　3 条件不足
　　例 Q：All arrivals after the register has closed are recorded as “unauthorized” absences.
　　原文：If your child arrives after the register has closed without a good reason, this will be recorded as an “unauthorized” absence for that session.
　　分析：原文说“unauthorized”的前提条件1是：after the register has closed, 条件2是：without a good reason, 但是题目中只有一个条件，没有第二个条件，所以是条件不足魏NO。
　　4 比较关系
　　例 Q： Water use per person is higher in the industrial world than it was in Ancient Rome.
　　原文：At the height of the Roman empire, nine major systems, with an innovative layout of pipes and well-built sewers, supplied the occupants of Rome with as much water per person as is provided in many parts of the industrial world today.（剑7，T1P2）
　　分析：原文说“as much as ...”,题目说“is higher than ”故比较的结果错误，所以为NO。如果比较的主题出现，比较的对象没有出现呢？

　　5 反义词
　　如果一个重心部位的词有反义词（此类词多为形容词和副词，也可能为动词），那么很有可能这个词就是考点词，需要去判断。比如：
　　例1 Q: Environmentalists take a pessimistic view of the world for a number of reasons.
　　原文： For many environmentalists, the world seems to be getting worse. （剑 5 Test 1, Q 27）
　　在这个例子中，形容词 pessimistic 因为有反义词 optimistic ，故这个词就是本题的考点词。与原文相对照，发现 pessimistic 对应的词是 seems to be getting worse ，与原文一致，因
　　此答案选 YES.
　　例 Q：Prior to the suggestopedia class, the teaching activities are made aware that the language experience will be demanding.
　　原文：Through meeting with the staff and satisfied students, they develop the expectation that learning will be easy and pleasant.（剑7TP3）
　　分析：demanding 和原文的 easy and pleasant 是反义词，所以是NO。
　　6 逻辑关系
　　例 Q：Feeding increasing population is possible due primarily to improved irrigation system.
　　原文：Food production has kept pace with soaring populations mainly because of the expansion of artificial irrigation systems that make possible the growth of 40% of the world’s food.
　　分析：原文because of 对应due to(因果逻辑)，其余细节和主干也对应，故为YES。
